Innovative Fermentation
- CCM and Biogas Maize -

DF Solid
Maize is a crop that lends itself well to energy-rich feed for pigs and/or poultry. Maize is often ensiled, to extend shelf life of the moist product. A major advantage is the fermentation by lactic acid bacteria that occurs. This improves animal health and digestibility because the corn has already been pre-digested by lactic acid bacteria. The fermented corn is a fresh, acid, and tasty product. DF Solid is especially developed for "Solid-State Fermentation" (SSF) of corn products, like Corn Cob Mix, and Maize silage for Biogas, or dry corn kernels (dry) mixed with water to ensilage. SSF is done at a moisture content of 35-40% to allow special lactic acid bacteria to grow quickly. DF Solid is a mixture of homofermentative (E.Lactis) and heterofermentative (L.Buchneri) strains.
UNIQUE ACTIVATION STEP!
Years of experience showed clearly that using freezedried bacteria in fermentation of raw materials is a risky activity! Freezedried bacteria are sleeping and not active for first 5 to 8 hours, significantly increasing the risk of mal-fermentations. Therefore it is absolutely necessary to activate the lactic acid bacteria before adding them into the fermentation. Since 2017, Dr.FERM is the only supplier of an unique activation concept. Our concept is made for simple, safe, and succesful activation.
Simple, Successful, Safe!
