DR.FERM
Innovative Fermentation

Who we are?

Ronald Scholten, PhD., & Anikó Karsai
In 2010, Ronald Scholten founded Dr.FERM Kft. His partner, Anikó Karsai, is co-owner since 2019. Her task is to run smoothly the back-office activities.
Since 2010, we have been working hard and with conviction to be the best know-how partner in microbial fermentation concepts for animals (pigs, poultry, calves, dairy, aqua, shrimps, insects). Ronald has 25+ years experience in microbial fermentation for animals, and has a passion for practical innovation based on scientific insights. This combination of science and practice is highlighted during his education as well as his carreer. Higher Agricultural College (4 years) and Wageningen Agricultural University (3 years; cum laude diplome). In 1996 he started his first job at the Applied Research Centre for Pig Farming. Here he had extensive contact with pig farmers and the supply industry, and conducted practical experiments at the three Experimental Pig Farms in The Netherlands. In conjunction with these experiments, he simultaneously conducted his PhD research at Agricultural University Wageningen (1997-2001): "Fermentation of Liquid Diets for Pigs". Ronald also spent over eight years as a co-shareholder and manager of various pig farms in Hungary. In 2010, he finally returned to his hobby "fermentation". Several large feed mills, like Nutreco, Hendrix Voeders, ForFarmers, hired Dr.FERM to be their consultant in building reliable and functioning fermentation concept for use on-farm or on-feed mill.
